　　在龙潭山高勾丽城西北角最低处，是古人利用泉眼修建的贮水池。因为，传说有一条孽龙被所在潭中，铁链系与潭边一棵大树上，传说有人拉动铁链，立刻就会风云变色，潭水翻腾。故称“龙潭”。龙潭四壁以花岗石条垒砌，呈长方形。东西长52.8米；南北25.7米，水深约10米。潭水主要以山上的雨水和积雪聚集而成，又因泉下有泉眼，故水深而碧，无涨无落，终年不固。每当浩月当空，倒影荡漾湖心，吉林八景“龙潭印月”即指此处。

　　与水牢距离250米处，是一圆形石砌深坑，称其“旱牢”，其实是高勾丽时期古城堡储存军需物资的地窖。
